Established in Surrey since 1998, the architectural practice of JOHN WATSON LEY ASSOCIATES has a reputation for high quality drawings and service for design and construction projects for private clients and developers.  The practice upholds principles of quality, integrity and economy in design and in its dealing with clients, consultants, contractors and site personnel.

"ART WORKS"

..... "If you need to increase your living space there are two basic options: either move house or extend your existing property. If you choose the latter, there are many options to consider including size, appearance and of cost. The entire subject can be daunting – and an expert’s advice is invaluable.

This is the particular speciality of John Watson Ley, an architectural and interior designer who guides and drives the entire process. John’s skill lies in interpreting his clients’ wishes and turning them into reality. In so doing, he produces what can only be described as detailed works of inspirational art. “My main desire is to design beautiful buildings which sit harmoniously with any existing structures, and blend with the landscape,” enthuses John. “

Good design is critical in the submission of planning applications.  John's practice has a high success rate for applications. For example, one local district council has a planning application success rate of around 75%, but 95% of my plans are accepted.”  There are four stages to the John Watson Ley Associates architectural design process. Clients can choose to use the company for as many or few stages as they wish.

With a degree in architecture and interior design qualifications from the Chelsea School of Art, John’s passion for his work is complete. Although qualified in Computer Aided Design, he prefers to work at a drawing board, gaining immense pleasure from the tactile and aesthetically pleasing nature of his work."

At home in Oxted, Surrey, John enjoys membership of his local church choir and making free-hand studies of local notable buildings. Two examples of which are shown on the right hand side of this page.

In 2012 John joined the Chartered Institute of Building as a full CIOB Member.
